A SPEL é parceira do Projeto Europeu MEDIS – Mediterranean Inclusive Schools, o qual tem a duração de três anos e conta com os seguintes parceiros: Espanha, Chipre, Grécia, Bulgária, Itália e Portugal.
O objetivo principal do projeto visa reforçar e consolidar a coesão social, a educação intercultural e a língua local num quadro multilingue de migrantes recém-chegados às escolas básicas e secundárias através do Programa de Escolas Inclusivas do Mediterrâneo.
O produto final do projeto consiste em que 90 escolas de países do Mediterrâneo implementem programas inclusivos para facilitar a integração das crianças provenientes de diferentes contextos culturais e linguísticos.
Os resultados do projeto serão:
• Adaptar o Plano LIC (*Llengua, Imigració i Cohesio social* – Língua, Imigração e Coesão social) a ambientes específicos, com base nas necessidades e no estudo dos contextos e complementá-lo com outras iniciativas bem-sucedidas para aprimorá-lo no âmbito educacional;
• Aumentar as competências profissionais da escola através de formação para a capacitação em metodologias inclusivas e abordagens pedagógicas;
• Aumentar a inclusão social em pelo menos 90 escolas em Espanha, Grécia, Itália, Chipre, Bulgária e Portugal, implementando e validando o Programa MEDIS;
• Influenciar as políticas estabelecendo contactos, assinando acordos e elaborando recomendações de políticas para os decisores a todos os níveis;
• Sensibilizar para o problema da inclusão social de crianças migrantes nas escolas e promover a diversidade cultural e a tolerância nos ambientes escolares.

SPEL is a partner of the MEDIS – Mediterranean Inclusive Schools European Project, which lasts for three years and has the following partners: Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, Italy and Portugal.
The main objective of the project is to strengthen and consolidate social cohesion, intercultural education and the local language in a multilingual framework of newly arrived migrants in primary and secondary schools through the Mediterranean Inclusive Schools Program.
The final product of the project is that 90 schools from Mediterranean countries implement inclusive programs to facilitate the integration of children from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
The results of the project will be:
• Adapt the LIC (* Llengua, Imigració i Cohesio social * – Language, Immigration and Social Cohesion) Plan to specific environments based on the needs and study of contexts and complement it with other successful initiatives;
• Increase the school professional skills through training for knowledge in inclusive methodologies and pedagogical approaches;
• Increase social inclusion in at least 90 schools in Spain, Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Portugal, implementing and validating the MEDIS program;
• Influencing policies by establishing contacts, signing agreements and drawing up policy recommendations for decision-makers at all levels;
• Raise awareness of the problem of social inclusion of migrant children in schools and promote cultural diversity and tolerance in school settings.
