A SPEL é parceira do projeto “Raising the digital literacy of professionals to
address inequalities and exclusion of LGBTQI community”, que decorre entre 2021
e 2023, e contará com instituições parceiras do Reino Unido, Grécia, Luxemburgo,
Roménia e Holanda.
OBJETIVOS DO PROJETO:
No atual contexto emergente da crise de COVID-19, este projeto tem como objetivo proporcionar aos profissionais europeus os recursos necessários para responder melhor às necessidades da população LGBTQI, vítima de exclusão social. Estes recursos irão focar-se nas TIC, uma vez que numa altura em que se pratica o distanciamento social, estas são cada vez mais utilizadas e mais relevantes. Neste sentido, o projeto RAINBO procura explorar este tipo de soluções, com ferramentas e práticas inovadoras, com enfoque na melhoria dos serviços que atendem a população LGBTQI.
Mais concretamente, o projeto irá atuar nas seguintes áreas:
• Apoiar profissionais europeus a incluírem perspetivas LGBTQI no seu trabalho.
Também se pretende que estes profissionais tomem consciência para a interseccionalidade, isto é, quando existe uma combinação de dois ou mais fundamentos de discriminação. Entre estes profissionais estão incluídos agentes de ajuda humanitária, psicólogos, assistentes sociais e profissionais de saúde;
• Melhorar as competências digitais destes profissionais com o objetivo de satisfazer as necessidades dos beneficiários LGBTQI;
• Incentivar a adoção da metodologia do projeto no EFP após a sua conclusão
• Reforçar as redes transnacionais de aprendizagem e cooperação de instituições, Organizações de Sociedade Civil, organismos/serviços públicos, centros comunitários, linhas de ajuda, e dos demais profissionais.
• Promover a inclusão e igualdade social, assegurando a inclusão das pessoas LGBTQI nos contextos de ajuda sanitária, humanitária e económica;
• Sensibilizar a comunidade LGBTQI para as desigualdades médicas e de saúde mental que enfrentam enquanto comunidade.
RESULTADOS FINAIS:
1) A produção de um curso do EFP para 100 profissionais nas diferentes áreas com os seguintes objetivos:
a) melhorar os seus conhecimentos sobre questões de saúde física e mental da comunidade LGBTQI, adotando uma perspetiva de interseccionalidade;
b) adquirir as competências digitais adequadas para fornecer apoio num contexto de distanciamento social;
c) contribuir para a eliminação de preconceitos e estereótipos em relação às minorias sexuais e de género;
d) assegurar que as pessoas LGBTQI sejam incluídas em todos os esforços da assistência médica, humanitária e económica.
2) A criação de uma plataforma de e-learning, que irá:
a) disponibilizar e facilitar o acesso ao curso;
b) sensibilizar para o projeto e divulgar todo o material criado para o mesmo;
c) motivar os formandos e formadores a utilizar os produtos do projeto.
3) O aumento do know-how de todos os membros participantes no projeto no que respeita a práticas, termos e ferramentas para promover a inclusão de LGBTQI nas suas atividades profissionais.
4) A prestação de serviços mais adequados, por parte dos profissionais europeus, à população LGBTQI que está numa situação de exclusão social resultante da crise pandémica do COVID-19.

SPEL is a partner in the “Raising the digital literacy of professionals to address
inequalities and exclusion of LGBTQI community”, occurring from 2021 until 2023,
and will have partner institutions from the UK, Greece, Luxembourg, Romania and
the Netherlands.
MAIN OBJECTIVES:
In the current context which emerged from the COVID-19 crisis, this project aims to
equip European professionals with the necessary resources to better respond to
the needs of the LGBTQI population, victim of social exclusion. These resources
will be focused on ICT, as, in a time of social distancing, these are increasingly
more used and more relevant. In this context, the RAINBO project aims to explore
this type of solutions, with innovative tools and practices, focused on the
improvement of services that meet the needs of the LGBTQI population.
More specifically, the project will operate in the following areas:
• Support European professionals on how to include LGBTQI perspectives in their activities. It is also intended that these professionals become aware of intersectionality, that is, when there is a combination of 2 or more grounds of discrimination. These professionals are support professionals, relief aid officers, social workers, mental health and health care providers;
• Enhance the digital skills of these professionals with the aim of meeting the needs of the LGBTQI beneficiaries;
• Create an incentive for the adoption of the project’s methodology in VET, after its conclusion;
• Strengthen transnational learning and cooperation networks of institutions, Civil Society Organisations, public bodies/services, community centres, helplines and the professionals involved;
• Foster social inclusion and equality, ensuring that LGBTQI people are included in all health, humanitarian and economic relief efforts;
• Raise awareness of medical and mental health inequalities faced by the LGBTQI community.
FINAL RESULTS:
1) The production of a VET programme for 100 professionals with the following objectives:
a) improve their knowledge in LGBTQI physical and mental health issues, under the lens of intersectionality;
b) acquire the appropriate digital competences for providing support in social distancing context;
c) contribute to the elimination of biases and stereotypes for sexual and gender minorities;
d) ensure that LGBTQI people are included in all health, humanitarian and economic relief efforts.
2) The creation of an e-learning platform, which will:
a) Allow easy access to the course;
b) raise awareness about the project and disseminate all project material;
c) motivate professionals and VET providers to use the project’s products.
3) An increase of the know-how of all the project participants when it comes to practices, terms and tools to promote LGBTQI inclusion in their professional activities.
4) The provision of more adequate services, on the part of European professionals, to the excluded LGBTQI population as a result of the new situation that emerged from the COVID-19 crisis.
